Migrants currently holding a Spouse Visa can extend it after completing 2.5 years. The extension is granted for a further 2.5 years, allowing the migrant to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain after a total period of 5 years.
The Spouse Visa extension allows a migrant already holding a UK Spouse or Unmarried Partner Visa to extend their stay for a further 2.5 years (30 months).
To extend your visa, you must still be in a subsisting relationship with your sponsor, meet the financial requirement (unless exempt), and have the correct level of English qualification, either by nationality, education, or passing an approved English test (A2 level).
Once you have extended your visa and spent 5 years on this route, you can qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain and a British passport.
At Westkin, our priority is to ensure your family stays together and to minimise the stress caused by visa applications. Many things may have changed since your last application, so it is vital that your circumstances are re-evaluated and a plan is made to ensure all documents and requirements are met. Changes such as job changes, loss of income, moving homes, having children, or changes in your relationship status should all be adequately assessed. As long as you contact us early enough, we can resolve most matters.
We guarantee that only a fully qualified immigration lawyer will take this appointment with you.
